African Tribe Culture

When we think of Africa, we think of the vibrant culture that comes alive and the age old traditions which the tribes follow. It is a mystical land with several mysteries about it. There are hundreds of African tribes in the continent even today and they are ruled by a diverse set of traditions and culture.

Most of the tribes follow a culture that is being passed down for several generations. These traditions must be thousands of years old. Because of these varied cultures, traditions and language Africa comes across a very complex place as far as ethnicity goes and difficult to understand too.

The religious values and the ideals of the Africans come from the culture or the tradition that they follow. The earliest religion in Africa followed ancestor worship and depended on them for guidance. They were spiritual, and when people died, they believed that they became gods. However, over a period of time, due to various external influences, religions like Islam and Christianity found their way into the deep rooted cultures of Africa. This is where perhaps the dilution began. Even the beginning of these religions can be two thousand years ago. Based on the adoption of the religion, even today the tribes can be segmented. Like Egypt was heavily influenced by Islam and South Africa by Christianity and so on. Every culture also had an age old tradition of art. They also created music, and the music of Africa is world famous even today. We can see its influence in almost all modern forms of music.
