Africa is a mystical place -- a land of wonders and great ancient history. This was the home of the ancient or prehistoric man, and this where life first started, perhaps. Several types of people lived here, including the Neanderthals.
Africa has a long twist with history and culture as several types of people lived here since times unknown. What is more enigmatic to understand that Africa was the birthplace of humanity. It is very difficult to put everything into one comprehensive passage as to how civilization developed from early man in this single continent. African culture and people are as old as 2 million years. That is a huge lot to summarize.
The ancient African culture is a combination of several factors and people. Right from the Stone Age, the people of Africa have contributed to human civilization in several ways. African culture is mainly influenced by the tribes of Africa. There are hundreds of tribes that shaped the continent. Most of them had their own language, customs and traditions.
You cannot compare the modern African culture with the ancient African culture simple because most of the ancient culture has dissipated. Africa has been exposed to several traditions ever since it was discovered. Also, surprisingly in Africa, you will find various religions like Christianity and Islam because people have adapted to invasions over a period of time. The colonialism in Africa has had a deep impact, and also wiped out several ancient traditions and practices. The tribal traditions that are considered invaluable today have disappeared to a great extent in Africa.
