Sports form an integral part of the culture in the United States. The sports culture is very unique and very different from any other part of the world. Also, the United States has come up with its own sports, which are now popular all over the world.
They have set a precedent in enjoying sports and also several other countries follow their style. In the United States, the most popular form of sport is team sport. For instance, baseball is a team sport that is very popular in the US.
In the United States, there are four kinds of sports that are played the most. These are American football, baseball, basketball and ice hockey. They have major leagues playing in these games. Almost every State in the United States has a team of their own to play these games. In addition, there are minor leagues as well as kids' leagues that ensure that enthusiasm reaches every age group and social stratum.
In the US, everyone is deeply involved in sports right from the players to the sponsors to colleges, universities, and fans and supporters. However, competition between national teams is not really recognized that much. Also, all major sports and competitions are held internally within the country.
One of the oldest sports played in the US is baseball. Professional baseball is being played in the country since 1869. Several State teams have formed ever since. Basketball is also played with equal fervor, and it was introduced in the United States by a Canadian called James Naismith.
In America, sports is as important as any other event or festival. A lot of indulgence and participation is seen countrywide.
