Native American Cultures
Native American culture is a different facet of the American culture, and these people are older to the land than the English speaking Americans. The Native Americans are mostly tribes who lived on the land much before the colonist stepped into the New World.
They had a civilization of their own, and followed ancient traditions and religion. However, many of the indigenous tribes of America are lost today. There are some people who still observe their age old traditions in a modern way that suits the society they live in.
A very small population of Native Americans is found in the United States today. One of the most popular Native American tribes is the country is Ojibwe. There have been several more like the Apache Indians, Cherokees and so on who dwelled in various parts of the United States. They believed in spirits and animals as their gods. The way they functioned in their daily lives was quite different from the usual Americans.
In the United States, there were more than five hundred native tribes that existed. However, if you conduct a people search in your own area, you will find several Native American origins even today and it does not come as a surprise.
Native American language is also unique to the tribe that they belong. Very few languages are known and are being studied today. However, most of their culture is still prominent in the form of history and the monuments that they built. The Native American tribes even had a script of their own, which unfortunately have become extinct as modernization took over.
