Popular culture means a scenario which includes every important aspect of life. In this world, popular culture is usually referred to as the American culture and is always understood in that way. In popular culture, idealisms, perspectives, attitudes of people are very open and broad minded. People are least conservative and opinionated.
The American culture is a very open minded society where one does not have an opinion of the other. Also, the society does not govern a person's life unlike other countries. There is a lot of scope for privacy in popular culture than any other kind of existent culture.
However, critics call popular culture a very superficial, consumerist and selfish society. People are more materialistic and self centered in this kind of society. The European society cannot be called as popular culture because they do not have a mass influence on the society. Even today a lot of people are conservative and have fixed views.
