Culture Of Japanese Women

Men and women have different roles in any society in any country across the world. There is nothing uncommon about it. In most societies the male is the dominating person. In Japan, gender plays a very important role in the society. There has been a long tradition of cultural effects on Japanese women.

In Japan, women seem to be extremely reserved. They never laugh or speak loudly in a gathering. They will only smile and acknowledge the presence of a stranger. When someone meets a Japanese woman, she may come across as extremely reserved or shy person. None of this may be true, but it is their culture that makes them behave in such a way.

Most Japanese women stay at home to bring up their children as they believe it is in their best interest. However, in modern Japan, you can also find women being a part of the workforce. Even otherwise, it is the women who take charge of the complete household task and other chores. Men rarely contribute to any of these, including bringing up children. Men are strictly about business and they never indulge in household matters. Women are more exposed if they have to face familial problems and often take the blame upon themselves.

Young Japanese women start a career after completing college. However, after they get married, they tend to resign to household jobs. Japanese women never play any role in politics. Very rarely will you come across women in politics in Japan. There has never almost been any minister who was a woman.
