Russians are extremely dependent on their family for every kind of support. Even grown up people live with their parents and other family members. Russians always live with family members in small apartments, but in large blocks. Several of their extended family and cousins could live in the same block. They all stay in touch that way, and the children are also brought up in close knit families. So, it is a very common scenario to continue that way. The children will grow up get married and continue to live with one of their parents. The homes are passed on to the children, and in most Russians' cases, they could be living in their ancestral homes.

Festivals in Russia are celebrated with friends and families. It is customary for the Russians to exchange gifts on all important occasions like New Year's Eve, Christmas and even birthdays and anniversaries. Russians get married at a very young age. They do not give their career a lot of importance and continue staying with their parents even if they are married and do not have a job. Women not getting married by 25 is also seen as a serious problem in Russia. Russians are also known for their several indulgences with alcohol and every occasion has to be celebrated with a glass of alcohol.
